A notary public is a person of integrity who acts as an impartial witness to the signing of important transactions. We validate those transactions by performing a notarial act such as stamping a document with an official notary state seal. Once we have taken an oath to serve as a notary, we become public servants/officials serving the public on behalf of their state. The primary purpose of a notary is to prevent fraud and forgery and therefore require the presence of anyone who is obligated to sign the document(s) accompanied with a valid picture ID.
The two most common notarial acts are administering an oath and taking an acknowledgement. Often times, notaries are contracted with title companies to help facilitate closings during real estate transactions as well.
Our notaries are commissioned only for the State of Texas. Consequently, we have statewide jurisdiction and may perform notarial acts in any county in the State of Texas. Please be aware that notaries cannot advise clients on legal documents, unless they are attorneys licensed to practice law in Texas. Furthermore, we cannot explain the contents of any documents, and if we do so, we may be found guilty of the unauthorized practice of law.
PBS provides mobile notary services to Harris County and surrounding areas, at a reasonable cost, at the location of your choice. Choosing to use a mobile notary can be extremely beneficial to you by saving time, avoiding traffic in congested areas, and utilizing the availability of after-hour notarizations or weekends. Why not navigate over to the appointments tab and schedule an available day and time for your notary needs. If you need an estimate on the cost of our notary services, please email us from the home page with any inquiries.
PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS SOLUTIONS is not a law firm and does not employ lawyers. PBS cannot represent you in court. PBS can provide document preparation services at the client's direction. Services provided by PBS are not substitutes for the advice of a lawyer. If you have questions regarding the selection of appropriate forms, you should seek the advice of a lawyer.
